There is a lot of sense coming from some unlikely sources today......

Re: Next signing in 24 hours-David Sullivan.
Blimey people are picking holes for no good reason, all Sullivan said was we were signing someone. We have.

Now if he said " we are signing a major international star over the weekend" and then we had this signing I could understand why people might be a bit annoyed.

But he didn't.

Also, how many of us are really experts on championship players?

We should be welcoming players to the club and the judging them in how they perform, behave off the pitch and their value for money.

Yep Adrian was another plenty moaned about having come here on the back of ONE season of football.

The truth is there are loads of goalkeepers out there that are either free or cheap, so I doubt we've just signed this player for the sake of it somehow, we would have watched him for a while I reckon and they have seen something they like and made the move.

Isn't picking up this sort of player the kind of thing Henry is lorded for?

Re: Next signing in 24 hours-David Sullivan.
I don't know much about him, but he has been a regular starter for the last 5 seasons. He has played for his country, played in the Champions League and Europa League qualifiers, and played in a Scottish Cup final. My guess is he will be featuring a lot in our Europa League qualifiers. I'm willing to give hime a chance. Not many knew much about Adrian and he turned out all right.

Why? People are doing the same thing again. Moaning and bitching about a signing before he's even kicked a ball for us and one that if anyone has actually seen him play they wouldn't have taken any real attention of.

Vexed a good point, could be 3rd choice for all we know.

Unless the people underwhelmed by this signing are the same as the ones you are referring to from last year, you're without a point.

Last summer

Sakho - A poor Maiga

Cresswell - Wont be good enough, Championship player

Kouyate - Never heard of him

etc etc etc

We've got some proper deluded mugs on here. Yes its a strange signing but its a second or third choice keeper, who gives a shit? I'm not sure who you're all expecting us to get to fill this almost never used spot?

and you paid attention to him WHY?

WELL, I PERSONALLY AM THRILLED TO HAVE A KEEPER OF THIS CALIBRE TO CALL UPON.

So saying that we hope to make a signing inside 24 hours is a big build up?

Re: Next signing in 24 hours-David Sullivan.
Liverpool are a much much bigger club than us, and Id have our number 2 goalkeeper over theirs.

Re: Next signing in 24 hours-David Sullivan.
So Hermit, who would you have liked to have seen signed up as a second keeper then and how many times have you seen this bloke play?

Hermit Road 7:07 Sat May 30
Re: Next signing in 24 hours-David Sullivan.
If West Ham are deluded for thinking we can do better than a 28yr old championship keeper on a free, then so be it. I think that you don't understand our club if you think we can't aim for better players.

Re: Next signing in 24 hours-David Sullivan.
Our chairman went to the bother of announcing this signing as a big mystery on the weekend when season ticket renewals are due, it really wasn't a signing worthy of that sort of build up no matter what any of you say. I also speak as someone broadly supportive of Sullivan, I have no axe to grind.

Re: Next signing in 24 hours-David Sullivan.
We don't warrant having a top drawer 2nd choice goalkeeper at the moment. Hopefully that will change over the next couple of seasons, but not now. I don't know this fella. Just hope he's good enough when called upon.
